When my son was approaching the recommended age to begin solids, I began researching various baby foods and recipes. When perusing the baby-food aisle, at various supermarkets, I noticed that some of the most simple purees have unnecessary ingredients and of course, they are fairly pricey.
I started Aidan off with some simple purees like the one I have mentioned below. My husband and I quite enjoyed feeding him those first few tastes of food. He didn’t fancy bananas for about 6 months until I let him bite into a banana I was eating. I guess he did not like its mashed consistency.
Now I know that finding the time to prepare baby foods may be challenging, but with the below recipes, it takes only minutes! With a little effort and preparation, you can create tasty, all natural and healthy foods for your baby.
Below are a few no cook food options that I used:-
STAGE 1 FOODS
1. Prune Puree
Simply put the desired amount of seedless prunes in a bowl of hot water and leave to steep. After they have become soft and plump, scoop out the pulp with a spoon and puree to the desired consistency.
2. Banana Puree
Peel a ripe banana the mash with a fork to the desired consistency.
3. Avocado Puree
Peel avocado then mash with a fork to the desired consistency.
4. Mango Puree
Peel a ripe mango then mask with a fork to the desired consistency.
5. Watermelon Juice
Cut watermelon into slices then blend to desired consistency. Initially, Aidan did not enjoy drinking water so he got a significant amount of water from watermelon.
